This bridge is rarely open to the public and used to be reserved for the use of only a special few. Nowadays, they open it periodically but it still retains its exclusive status.

Well, after hanging out at the top for a little while it was finally time to descend through these gates and make my way down the mountain. I cant believe I'm saying this but my knees really took a beating.

OH MY GOD SNOW!!! I wanted to see nothing else but snow during my time in SE Asia and rumors that it existed up here was all it took to get me to make the climb. There was actually a lot more than this in the shady areas a little further down. Made me glad I had gore-tex shoes.

At the top of most hikes in the States, there may be a register but often there is nothing. At the top of Nantai-San, there was a statue, various gates and other assorted objects of religious significance. Don't know why, but it really made peaking feel that much more rewarding.
